cherrymount house, phibsborough
This 1834 protected villa which originally featured an avenue from North Circular Road was heavily altered c1900 when its staircase was decanted into a new extension and the canted bay windows were transplanted onto its Georgian façade. The house that was approaching dereliction has now been extended and split into two large houses with a new-build diminutive gatelodge and entrance re-defining its relationship with the 1950s Cherrymount Park estate. DCC Building Control provided regular inspections of the works and advice on building regulations compliance issues in relation to Part E party wall sound issues, Part B fire separation and Part K guarding to sash window.
