We collaborated with Ciaran Adamson Design  on another original project to design a new office fit out for Athletics Ireland, the national governing body for Athletics in Ireland. We sought to create an interior working space that reflected the ethos and identity of the sports body. Playful elements within the interior reflect the volunteer ethos of the body including a running track feature carpet extending from main entrance “starting blocks”, glass graphics featuring silhouette figures of each field event and “locker room” file storage.

The client group requested that natural daylighting to work areas be maximised which prompted up to re-locate the large main boardroom centrally within the 330m2 space where the board of elected volunteer members meet. This approach freed up the perimeter of the unit for workstations. An open and airy sense is captured in the space with a “floating” reception counter, low-height partitions framing glazed meeting rooms and cross-views created through the central boardroom. The space responds to flexible working patterns including a mixture of open plan and cellular office space and adjustable height workstations.

The works were completed in August 2019
