Historic buildings require professional conservation skills that can only be learned over time. Fergal’s background in conservation is outlined as follows:

1995-1996:     Worked with conservation grade 1 practices Richard Hurley & Associates and Hamilton Young Architects on protected structures including St. Marys & St. Annes Cathedral, Cork.

1996-2000:    Worked with Arthur Gibney & Partners as project architect on projects including the St. Stephen’s Green Hotel which incorporated National Monuments 3 & 4 Harcourt Street.

2003:        RIAI Architect Accredited in Conservation Grade 3

2009:        TCD Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Building Conservation & Repair

2010:        Appointed to the Heritage Council Conservation Panel

2011:         Listed on the Irish Georgian Society traditional skills database

2012:        RIAI Architect Accredited in Conservation Grade 2
